The Tetris idea is in full swing for our New Children's Museum, located in downtown San Diego, Cardboard Lounge. Today each group was able to pick which of the five Tetris shapes they would like to work with to form their individual "nest" of chairs.
The ambitious human beings that we are, took on the T" shaped figure. We started off with many different interlocking, puzzle piece ideas. But after many sketch pages ripped out of our notebooks we think we are getting an idea of what we want to do.
Working with the models first, is helping the thought process very much. We are starting off with two 30 X 30 inch (drawn to scale) squares and making two chairs with that. Now with the negative space we will configure some sort of other form of chair or possibly ottoman. Our group will be collaborating again on Monday Oct. 8th once our two 30 X 30 square chairs are done to figure out where we will go next.
Here is an example of one of the model chairs we are putting together. (It shows the structure as well as the finished project)
Signing off, Kelly O'Sullivan, with the "T" Group.
